The project “Inno PV – Monitoring and simulation-based output optimisation in the field of PVwith accompanying technology transfer AUT-SEE”

Innovation is part of the international project “Inno PV” – “ Monitoring and simulation-based output optimisation in the field of PVwith accompanying technology transfer AUT-SEE”. This project consists of an international expert networkof 6 companies (5 of which SMEs), one RDI institution (university of applied sciences) and an intermediary institution. Three of the companies are based in Southeastern Europe (SEE), in Macedonia and Montenegro.

With regards to technology, the goal of the project is to concentrate on development of monitoring andsimulation system in order to enhance output from photovoltaic (PV) systems. This is to be achieved by optimizing site and component-relevant parameters through the correctselection of materials, proper (electrical) technical design, suitable modules (location/climate/system typology) and correct installation in order to achieve an actual output which matches performance profiles (predicted output).

In terms of business, a mixture of national and international companies along the entire supply chain of PV systems is expected to generate advantages for each network partner through technology transfer with companies upstream and downstream of the supply chain. Ultimately, this will stimulate an integrated understanding of the technology and significantly increase the problem-solving capacity of each individual partner and the network as a whole.

Innovation is involved in the development of the monitoring system and is introduced to the field of PV technologies in detail through close cooperation with FH JOANNEUM Kapfenberg, MEDS and ENERGETICA. Part of our work is also the development and programming of (micro controller-based) local dataprocessing, the implementation of the wired and wireless sensor network and all areas of database programming, visualisation and data evaluation. We are also independently working on and developing individual packages under the guidance of the software and data transmission specialists of FH JOANNEUM Kapfenberg, which will be of mutual benefit to both the company and the University of Applied Sciences. Innovation was established as a spin-offfrom the Computer Science Department of Skopje University, which means that academic exchange is maintained beyond the project period.
