Public Procurement Bureau

The World Learning/Macedonia as part of its USAID Human and Institutional Development Program aims at improving the performance of selected institutions deemed key to both the future of Macedonia and USAID legacy in Macedonia.

In July 2009 as part of the activities, World Learning hired Innovation’s consultants to conduct assessment of the IT infrastructure in the Public Procurement Bureau in Macedonia. The following activities were performed by the consultants:

  • Assessment of the current IT infrastructure within PPB;
  • List configuration of equipment within the network, both hardware and software solutions used by PPB;
  • Identify future hardware and software needs of the PPB;
  • On the basis of identified current situation and future needs, develop technical specification of both software and hardware equipment to match the needs of the PPB;

The focus of this assessment was to improve the IT infrastructure of the Public Procurement Bureau. With the systematic approach for identification of IT infrastructure gaps, a mix of recommendations for closing the gaps was proposed.

Separate from the assessment of IT infrastructure, Innovation implemented its Document Management System in the Bureau – customizing it for the needs of the Public Procurement Bureau. This software is still used in the Public Procurement Bureau, and Innovation also provides the needed support.
