Free ICT courses for everyone
Since Innovation is highly experienced in training and education, and we have worked on several successful projects, in 2008 the Government of R. Macedonia chose Innovation in the tender for the project FREE ICT courses for the citizens. Innovation’s work consisted of implementing the courses, developing the specialized education and training program for the citizens in Macedonia. During this project we educated 8000 citizens and employees with sophisticated tools and methodologies, of basic and advanced computers knowledge.
The main objectives of the project are:
- To increase the IT literacy of the older population and
- To help the younger population to succeed in their careers.
The goal of the project ICT education for everyone- to increase the level of citizens’ ICT skills was realized by Innovation. The project included free ICT courses that were held by our experienced team. The Free ICT courses initiative also aimed to make smaller the digital gap between the Republic of Macedonia and the EU countries. The initiative has been elaborated in the national IT strategy 2005-2007. In general, the Free ICT courses for everyone have sparked greater than expected interest among the registered students. People responded positively to the initiatives for improving the digital literacy. Senior citizens usually lack proper IT training, hence they rarely use computer or use a computer with a help of a younger person. But they are all aware about the advantages of the new technologies and they all would like to use the new forms of communications, the new forms of doing business and the new way of living. We helped these people by providing the necessary knowledge.
Interestingly enough, the free ICT courses were interesting for the younger population, too. Unemployed people and people seeking employment in the public administration hope that this course will give them the minimum skills needed for work in the public sector. The project lasted from 06.2008 to 12.2008.
